The Next Web Conference was, like Ernst-Jan Pfauth called it, one rocking conference! Too bad I couldn’t be there this year, but it was great to follow the conference via the stream at their website.

Before the show started everyone was thrilled and the stakes where high. Some startups where a bit disappointing but far the most of it was worth joining the conference. One of my favorite startups, Wakoopa, eventually won a Next Web Award. Great job guys, you deserve it!
Great startups and speakers
During the show there where lots of cool startups and speakers. Kevin Rose for instance, co-founder of Digg.com, explained some cool new features for Digg (the story hit the Digg frontpage).
Werner Vogels talked about everything failing on us, all the time. Complete racks of servers fail all the day at the company of Amazon, without anyone of us noticing it. Kind of cool isn’t it? Great company, Amazon.
Leah Culver, co-founder of Pownce.com, talked about magical unicorns. Leah is off course know because of Pownce.com, but her laser-etched MacBook Pro is the most known MacBook Pro in the world I guess.
For a quick overview on everything that is spoken about at The Next Web Conference 2008, you can read Ernst-Jan’s posting about ‘Enough for the conference now, this blog must go on‘.
See you next year, The Next Web!
Next year I will be there, the stream was great but the real thing should be even better. Count me in for next year and thanks again for the great video-stream!
