I’ve been blogging for almost five months in Dutch now, but I feel I’m ready for the next step in my big blogging adventure. Blogging has been great fun, ever since I started blogging every time I’m publishing a great article on my Dutch blog (CoenJacobs.net) I get the feeling that it’s not receiving the attention it deserves. I think it’s time for some changes.

Taking the plunge, blogging in a foreign language

That’s the main reason I’ve decided to start this weblog, to share everything I know about the internet, webdevelopement and SEO in a more universal language. More people will be able to read, comment and appreciate my articles.

What about the Dutch weblog?

For now, I will continue my Dutch weblog. I can’t tell if I will do so in the coming weeks, months or even years, time will tell. The next few days I will spend less time on my Dutch weblog, to publish some great articles here, to provide a solid base of articles.

People who haven’t followed my Dutch blog, or who weren’t able to do so due to the language it is written in, need to have some time to decide wether or not they like my articles or not. They need some articles to make a good decision and that’s exactly what I will take care of in the next couple of days.

The advantages of blogging in English

I’ve written about this subject before, an English weblog will allow more people to read it than a weblog that is written in Dutch. It’s as simple as that and it is the main reason why I’m starting to blog in English.

Blogging is bigger in the English-speaking countries, in Europe and especially in the Netherlands it’s still a little bit weird. People and companies are more open and social to bloggers in English as they are to Dutch bloggers.

Just two small reasons why I’ve made my decision but in the following articles I will explain more about it. There is more, still to come. Much more.
