There are numerous ways in which blogging looks like being an artist. Bloggers are constantly working on their reputation in their niche, and so are artists. Most bloggers seem to start from absolute zero, while others get help and a great boost in reputation due to linking by another (respected) blogger. The world of music is exactly that way.

We live in a world stuffed with blogs, but artists (without exceptions) do need to fight every day for their reputation. Bloggers of big and well known blogs, do get the same attention as a popstar would. Once the blogger grows in popularity it gets a little easier, the same goes for artists.
Fans of bloggers, compared to fans of a artist
When we take a look at one of the most succesful bloggers in the world, there are lots of comparisons. Bloggers promote themselves in several ways, as do artists. Like this one, there are tons of ways a blogger looks like a artist and a artist looks like a blogger.
Off course, there are less people that enjoy the writing of the best blogger in the world, as there are people that enjoy the music of one of the best singers in the world. When we take a look at the number of people that read blogs regulary, that’s a way smaller number of people. It’s all within proportion.
Times are changing for bloggers, artists change their music
Every day is different and could change the world for a blogger, blogging is changing. In the early years of blogging, it was nothing more than dumping a link to a valuable website or article. Now the blogger write the articles themselves. Off course there are several ‘traditional’ blogs, which still live on linking to other websites or blogs.
The same goes for artists, music is also changing. There are people who still listen to styles of music, that we only find in the budget-baskets at the local musicstore. But the majority of the fans of music, listens to music that’s hot and popular. It’s up to artists to keep their music attractive and reason to listen to it.
